STUDENTS IN THE NEWS

OMAR YANEZ is raising support to obtain a Masters of Divinity degree from Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama. From Cusco, Peru in South America, Omar is 32 years old.  He has a degree in Business Administration from San Antonio Abad University of Cusco-Peru where he studied English as a second language.  Knowing Spanish and English has allowed him to help different ministries such as the IMB (International Mission Board), E3 Partners, Scripture Union, Zona Zegura and different USA churches to evangelize and plant home churches in the Andean Mountains in Peru since 2004.  Now he is applying to Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama for the Spring of 2015 to obtain a Masters of Divinity degree. This degree will help him to have more tools to continue evangelizing, planting more home churches and teach theology in South America.

ELIZABETH CASEY is a 2nd year grad student at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX.  She is studying Agriculture in order to help other countries produce healthy crops.  Along with her undergraduate missions degree from Baptist College of Florida, the Masters of Agriculture will help her be received in other countries more readily as she hopes to work in Southern Africa.  She presented research on Tarleton's behalf in Poland, Sept.2013 at a symposium on Agriculture. One of four students chosen by Tarleton. She will present her own research in Mobile, AL and Dallas, TX Spring 2014 at Agricultural Conferences. She is also headed to Long Beach, CA for another presentation of her research Fall 2014.  Her completed thesis (September 12th, 2014) will allow her to graduate with her Masters December of 2014.

ANDIE PRATHO graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX in May 2014 .  She is now attending Pharmacy School in Abilene, TX.  In 2011, Andie took a mission trip to China and while there she wrote a song called 'Beautiful Rain'.  She came back and set it to music and the result is a ministry unto itself.  Her testimony of God's Grace touched many student's lives in Peru where she was able to share it on a daily basis during Zona Zegura's presentations in public schools.  Ancient Work has helped Andie copyright her song and she has professionally recorded it.  It is available on iTunes, AmazonMP3 & other stores.

LUIS CARL SANDOVAL was accepted to Moody Bible Institute Aviation Program and began Fall 2013 in Spokane, WA.  He has completed his First year and has started his second year in the hanger.  Ancient Work is excited to be a part of this journey for Carl to become a Missionary Bush Pilot like his grandfather was for over 50 years. Carl has done mission work in and around the Brazilian/Peruvian border in South America and is hoping to continue mission work in that area.  The Moody Aviation Program is a 5 year undertaking and produces the best missionary pilots in the country.  Not only do they learn to fly (Carl is a licensed pilot), but they also learn how to fix their airplane engines.  If you go down in a remote area there is no airplane mechanic around the corner, let alone an airport.

COURTNEY CONTRERAS will receive her Master's Degree in Spanish from the University of North Texas May 2015.  Her goal is to work with Zona Zegura ministry in Cusco, Peru helping with discipling the many youth they impact. She will also be helping AWM with grant writing and fundraising in the U.S. for Zona Zegura.
